Avalon

I wanted to let everyone know how much we appreciated all the help, patience and kindness we received when adopting Avalon (left) and Anubis (right). We came in every day for three days before finalizing our decision in July 2005.

"Tara" was the eight-week old female Shepherd mix we adopted, now known as Avalon. She is such a sweetie, and really likes to snuggle (when she feels like it). She also enjoys nibbling on anything she can get her mouth on. She walks around like a little alligator, mouth open and ready to clamp down on anything she touches.

They both seem to be enjoying their new home, and are playing with each other just as siblings do. We even have to get after them occasionally. I'm not sure what it is about youngsters and the "mine" game... but these two play it regularly... especially with a stick or their chew sticks.

They are now sitting, laying and staying. They are doing very well... ok, pretty well. Anubis seems to be taking to it a little better than Avalon. I honestly think she has a bit of a stubborn streak in her. It's fairly obvious she knows how and when to sit, but she's testing her limits... and we all know how that will turn out. Just like any other child, limits must be tested, and learned. They are also almost housebroken... what a task!

I must say we are VERY happy with our decision, and the service we received from everyone we came into contact with at the shelter. Please, please keep up the awesome work you are doing!

From our family
(Alex, Joy, James, Michael, Avalon, and Anubis)
to yours...Thank You!!!
