Jackson
Rescue Dog
I
found Jackson on Petfinder.com through Illinois Birddog rescue. I located
three dogs to look at in Chicago. Jackson made eye contact and leaned in to
hug me on his hind legs before I left. I decided at that moment to take him.
My mom had died in November and she was famous for her hugs for everyone.
Something just told me he was the one.
My daughter and I picked Jackson up from downtown Chicago in the wee hours
of the morning on March 18, 2005. I tried to crate him to sleep that night
but he cried, howled and barked so I let him out so I could sleep. He jumped
up on my bed and went to sleep. This ended up being very odd as Jackson hardly
ever barks and I have never heard him cry since.
Jackson came to me weighing about 42 pounds. He had lived with his foster
dad for about three weeks. My vet checked him out and said he should weigh
about 55 to 60 pounds. He has filled out in the past five months and now weighs
about 55 pounds. We discovered that he had some food allergies.
Jackson is a wonderful dog. He loves people and loves playing with other dogs.
He is the "fastest" dog at the dog park and will run no matter how
tired he is. He loves chasing the chipmunks and squirrels in his yard.
Jackson is a very special dog and well behaved. He has a wonderful personality
and I thank God every day that he is mine.
