Miss Gizzy Girl

My name is Miss Gizzy Girl. I am a black Persian and was adopted from your shelter in June 2006, shortly after the death of my beloved owner's Persian male that she had for eight wonderful years. I knew from the start I had very big paws to fill, after all, my owner questioned if she was even ready to adopt another.
With the help of your wonderful staff, we were introduced. Now keep in mind I came to the shelter as a 6-8 month old that had a terrible case of ring worm that required extensive veterinarian treatment. I still do not know why my new owner would even give me a second look, my hair was all shaved, and my skin was flaky and dry. I had missing patches of fur, but she was able to look beyond all that. She decided right then to make me hers, even with the discouraging words of her daughter and husband. They said, “You don’t want that ugly thing, do you?” Her response was, “Absolutely, she needs me!” With those words I was on my way home.
Well, as you can see from my pictures I have thrived; I eat Science Diet and have toys galore. I even have a new living plaything, my sister, Miss Prissy. She was just adopted in September from a foster Parent, who had found her and her littermates thrown out. As you can see I adore her, so please pass my happy story along, so that others can see that there are hundreds of diamonds in the rough just waiting to be adopted at the shelter.
Sincerely,
Miss Gizzy Girl and mom
