Motley
Thank you for such a great adoption experience. I came to your shelter on
2/19/04 looking for a small or medium size dog and found a nine pound, three-month
old mix. He was sitting in his kennel as cute as could be wagging his little
tail. He was named Kenny and was marked as a "lab mix," although he
clearly had no Labrador in him. Charlot brought Kenny into a room and let us
socialize.
He
was very energetic and running around the room like a maniac! For some reason
I couldn't resist him though and ended up adopting him that day. The shelter
staff hadn't been able to give him his vaccinations because when he came into
the shelter he was so scared that he tried to bite. Today, he is named Motley
and is a very spoiled dog. Motley absolutely LOVES to go for walks and run off
of his leash, and is the fastest dog at the dog park!
I went to a shelter prior to visiting Helping Hands and was treated very poorly
because I was young. The staff apparently thought that I was getting a dog just
as a toy and didn't realize the responsibility of being a pet owner. I want
to say thank you for seeing past my age and bringing Motley into my life. He
is a special member of our family and I don't know what I'd do without him!
Sincerely,
Nicole Bulger
