Raider was adopted in 2004 from HHHS. He was between eight and 10 weeks old and was found thrown in a ditch with two other litter mates. He was a birthday present for a 10 year-old boy who wanted nothing more for his birthday than a German Shepard puppy.

He is the smartest and best behaved dog I have ever been around. He loves to swim and ride in a canoe on the Missouri rivers with us and sleeps in the tent with his now 12 year-old master. Each day as the school bus takes his boy away, Raider gathers his toys and sits down by the mailbox to await his return.

He is loyal and loving and has never shown a temper or growled at anyone. He loves to play with the calves after they are born in the spring and has been seen washing the bull’s face. If he gets muddy or dirty all we have to do is tell him to go get in his pool and he gets into his little pool where he can be bathed before coming into the house. He completes our family and has given us so very much. We cannot imagine what we did without him.
