Tricia
Brown
2001 Youth Volunteer of the Year

Tricia Brown
was named the 2001 Youth Volunteer of the Year and presented with a
T-shirt and certificate of appreciation at the HHHS annual meeting in
May.
Tricia just completed the eighth grade at Logan Junior High and volunteered
at the shelter nearly every day after school and on weekends. Since
October, she has contributed more than 400 hours of volunteer service
to Helping Hands.
She grooms, bathes and socializes dogs and puppies to make them more
adoptable and spends extra time comforting and playing with scared or
shy dogs. She even fostered a sick dog at her home while nursing it
back to health so it could be adopted.
Tricia provides additional support in the office by performing such
tasks as photocopying, filing, answering phones and stuffing envelopes
for mailings. She lends an extra hand when customer service is short
staffed. Tricia has been instrumental in recruiting new volunteers and
often spends time training them. She has also assisted with many mobile
adoption events.
The love and devotion Tricia shows each day for our community’s
abandoned animals deserves recognition. She is truly a “helping
hand” in our community.
