2018 was the final year for Helping Hands Humane Society’s signature event, Paws in the Park. Capital City Pet Festival is taking its place this year on April 6th from 10am-3pm. The event will be nearly the same, but instead of happening in the park, it takes place in and around HHHS’s beautiful adoption facility. Activities include Pancakes by Perkins from 10am-12pm, dozens of vendors from a wide variety of businesses set up in the training room, pet contests at 1pm, delicious local food trucks, a chance for your dog to try agility in our play yard, and more! The General Admission wristband is just $5, and the $25 VIP package includes the wristband, a commemorative event t-shirt, a swag bag filled with goodies, and a Capital City Pet Festival pet bandana.
An adoption special will accompany the event and last Saturday, April 6th through Sunday, April 7th. All cats and kittens will only be $14 each to adopt. For those with a Capital City Pet Festival wristband, dogs will only be $50 to adopt. All other dog adoptions will have a $25 discount. (Special does not include High Profile Pets.)
HHHS Foundation Vice President Justin Brokar, the event coordinator, says, “This event helps raise funds for the over 6,000 homeless, abused, and neglected pets who come through our doors each year. This is the number one pet-friendly, family fun event of the year and is a great way for the community to support our mission.”
