Ashly
Eakes was named 2003 Youth Volunteer of the Year at the HHHS annual
meeting on May 15. She logged more than 120 hours of service to Helping
Hands in just three short months.
As a freshman at Topeka High School, Ashly is involved in The ROTC program.
She spent her entire spring break volunteering at the shelter and spends
many Saturday mornings lending a helping hand. While at the shelter,
she often bathes animals for special events and assists with customer
service. Being an animal lover her entire life, Ashly enjoys walking
dogs and socializing animals.
In addition, she has assisted with several events such as mobile adoptions
at Petco and PetsMart; WIBW Open House; Lawn and Garden Show; and the
St. Patrick’s Day Parade. She also spends time collecting items
on our wishlist.
