Please note that the trail is a mix of flat terrain and hills. It includes grass and dirt surface. 1 Mile Walk: Mostly paved/sidewalk. Concessions and indoor facilities will be available for the public and their dogs. There will also be adoptable pets on site. Come out and give them some love. Rain or shine, this event is a great opportunity for you and your family (fur included) to get out and enjoy a brisk run, walk or just enjoy the activities. Your support goes a long way and this event helps raise awareness for all of the great animals that are waiting for their forever home. Did you know that Tails on the Trail was an idea started with two Topeka women who wanted to combine their love of running and dogs to help raise money for Helping Hands Humane Society? It all started in 2010 when HHHS was trying to move into their new building on 21st and Belle. Lena and Linda wanted to help raise money so the animals could move into the new building with more exposure to the Topeka residents. Tails on the Trail has been a huge success and continues to grow. Best of all, many dogs have been adopted on the day of the event and we hope to continue to raise awareness for these animals.
Do you have a fundraising idea you would like to help develop, like Tails on the Trail, which was the brainchild of a supporter? Please let us know; we would love to work with you. We are a community, and together we make a big difference. Submit your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org
