Tails on the Trail 2017
It’s our 8th anniversary! Shawnee County Parks + Recreation is proud to present Tails on the Trail 2017 – Topeka’s favorite dog-friendly 5k run/walk and family event! This is a fundraiser for Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka, KS and we have donated over $93,000 in the past 7 years. Tails on the Trail will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 with registration at 9am and a welcome announcement at 9:30am. The run/walk begins at 10am and will take place on the scenic Shawnee North Nature Trail with a free photo booth, vendors, a silent auction (Think Christmas! See sneak peeks of silent auction items on Facebook), Santanimals balloon artist and more! Please note that the trail is a mix of flat terrain and hills. It includes grass and dirt surface.
Concessions and indoor facilities will be available for the public and their dogs. 100% of your registration fee will go to Helping Hands Humane Society – we are doing this for the animals! We will also have adoptable pets on site. Come out and give them some love. Rain or shine, this event is a great opportunity for you and your family (fur included) to get out and enjoy a brisk run, walk or just enjoy the activities. Your support goes a long way and this event helps raise awareness for all of the great animals that are waiting for their forever home.
Don’t forget to place your bid at the silent auction to have your dog featured on the back of the 2018 event t-shirt. This is a great way to show your pet how much you love them and brag about them around town! Tails on the Trail will be held on the first Saturday of November annually.
