City of Topeka License Information

All dogs/cats residing within Topeka City limits must be licensed.

The annual license fee for a neutered dog or cat is $5.00.
For an unneutered dog or cat the fee is $8.00.

The Topeka Police Department Animal Control Unit is responsible for the issuance of dog and cat licenses.

A license can be obtained by contacting or visiting the Animal Control Office at the Law Enforcement Center, 320 S. Kansas. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Their telephone number is 785-368-9484.

Registration forms are also available at the City Hall Express Office, the Helping Hands Humane Society and veterinary clinics. The form can be mailed to the Animal Control Office.
