Have an idea about working together? We’d love to hear it!

HHHS relies on the ideas, donations, and participation of this community for life-saving work!

We are very proud and grateful of all the appearance requests, offsite requests, community booth presentations, and donation drives that occur throughout the community.

If you are a business who wants to host an adoption event, a group or organization who would like a speaker to come out, a group or organization that would like a facility tour, want to do a donation drive and need permission to use our logo, or any other such activities – please fill out the attached form so that a staff member can be in touch with you!

Because we do get a lot of animal appearance requests, we unforunately don’t have the resources to attend them all, but will do our best to accomodate requests.

Frequently Asked Questions
Event Planning considerations

To help you plan your event a little better, here are some frequently asked questions and considerations from the shelter’s end!

CAN YOU BRING ANIMALS TO MY EVENT?

We LOVE getting to show the wonderful personalities of pets to our community and promote adoptions! However, not all environments are suitable for our adoptable animals who are already at a heightened stress from being in the shelter and we don’t want to put them in environments they may not feel comfortable in. Our animal selection for attending events is based on the temperament of the available animals we have in our care 48 hours before the event. This is determined by our animal behavior team who works closely with the animals here to set them up for the best success in the community.

What are ambassador animals?

HHHS is very fortunate to have such an expansive alumni team of animals that have been adopted from or trained through HHHS! We offer a training program called Petiquette and a Canine Good Certification training here at the shelter. We have a number of pets that have undergone training and get to represent how great shelter animals can be! While these animals aren’t adoptable, because they usually attend events with their handler/human parent, they can show how enriching a shelter animal can be! This program is a great candidate for more hands-on events such as children’s groups or heavily crowded/noisy environments.

I'm a teacher and my class wants to do something for the animals, what can we do?

We have had so many wonderful classrooms come up with great ideas! We have had classes come read to the animals (animals like hearing the cadence of human voices without having it be directed at them), donation drives for some type of school incentive, a tour of our building, career days to interview staff about animal jobs, observe an agility demonstration, make enrichment activities, write letters or color pictures to the animals or to display on the animal kennels, and so much more!

What type of publicity is available for my event?

We’d love to be able to see your fliers/branding for the event to approve prior to publishing, just to ensure that our mission is best represented. Logo usage can be approved by Grace Clinton for the event with advance notice. We do ask that press releases or media invites are submitted by the hosting business or organization rather than HHHS, but are happy to cooperate in providing quotes or attending the media appearances as well. If you would like social media recognition (such as a donation drive photo of collected supplies or a LIVE video stream at the event), please be sure to schedule with Grace or Emi in advance. We definitely don’t want to miss out on providing you the deserved recognition!
