History of the partnerships
We are so excited and grateful to have a robust food truck community in Topeka! Many of the local food trucks support our shelter and cause, an are animal lovers at heart and we are eager to host them on our property as a fundraiser for HHHS!
When COVID-19 rocked the globe, HHHS was forced to modify the way we do fundraisers. One local food truck, Poppin Minis, owned by Richard and Sharon Fergison, reached out and said they had a food truck and would like to park at HHHS and donate a portion of their proceeds to raise funds for the animals and provide a delicious outdoor option for people to eat local foods, from local businesses.
From there, the “Food Truck Nights” were born! In 2021, around 10 food truck vendors banded together and raised over $10,000 for the animals in need at HHHS! Since that time, the local food truck community has raised more than $50,000 for the pets at HHHS!

2026 Food Truck Night Dates
Mark your calendars! In 2026, we are moving Food Truck Nights to FIRST FRIDAYS!
Friday April 3rd, 4pm – 8 pm
Friday May 1st, 4pm-8pm, live performance by Pure Country!
Friday June 5th, 4pm – 8pm
Friday July 3rd, 4pm – 8pm
Friday August 7th, 4pm – 8pm
Friday September 4th, 4pm – 8pm, live performance by Paradize Band!
Friday October 2nd, 4pm – 8pm, live performance by Sloppy But Lucky!
All events will take place in HHHS parking lot. Parking is available on the West side of the HHHS parking lot, near the US Bank and on the side near Arrowhead Dr. Additional parking is on the East side of the shelter, off of Belle, in our Admissions lot. Please be aware that front parking on these days will not be available after 3pm on these days.
We encourage folks to bring their own lawn chairs!
Indoor seating is provided as well, and the shelter will remain open until 8pm on Food Truck Nights!

HHHS does not charge rent space, but does ask for a portion of proceeds to benefit the animals.
